Fes ( 菲斯 )

Fes, founded in AD789, is the medieval capital of Morocco and one of the great cities of Islamic civilisation.  Contained within the medina (old walled city) is probably the best preserved old city in the Arab world, which has virtually remained unchanged since its foundation. Within its walls the transportation of goods is provided by donkeys, mules and handcarts.  Fes is known for its crafts, which includes pottery, tiles, textiles, leather and silver products, all made and sold here in exactly the same way as they were over a thousand years ago.  The narrow maze of streets have row after row of vendors selling all imaginable products.  Time stands still here and wandering the narrow streets is probably as close travelling through time as as you can get!
